The 2008 World Superbike Championship season will see the Ducati riders competing on the brand new Ducati 1098 F08 superbike, with the help of special designed Shell Advance lubricant and Shell V-Power performance fuel. The highly anticipated official presentation of the new machine took place on 30th January in the Spanish town of Jerez de la Frontera, alongside the ‘Dynamic Testing’ and press launch of its road going cousin, the 1098 R.
The new 1098 F08 is directly derived from the 1098 R that has already become a technological point of reference for production sport bikes as the most advanced and powerful twin-cylinder motorcycle ever built. The Ducati 1098 F08 is closer than ever to the road bike, including ground breaking features like MotoGP derived traction control and with changes limited to the pistons, camshafts and transmission.
As befits a machine of such performance, and just like its road going counterpart, the Ducati 1098 F08 is completely protected by Shell products. Its performance is maximised by a blend of Shell V-Power fuel tuned to power development, while the engine power losses are minimised by a friction reducing protective blend of Shell Advance Ultra 4 lubricant. This high performance engine provides the perfect final testing ground for all the changes and improvements that Shell engineers have developed and proved in MotoGP, before being transferred into road products that benefit all customers around the world.
