Gas to liquids
Gas to liquids (GTL) technology converts natural gas into a range of valuable synthetic fuels and speciality chemicals. GTL can help major resource holders unlock value and diversify their gas commericalisation strategies in a way that is complementary to other methods, such as liquefied natural gas LNG and pipelines. We started the world’s first commercial GTL plant of its kind in Malaysia in 1993 and today we are building the world’s largest GTL plant in Qatar. Our cleaner burning GTL Fuel is available at retail sites in Europe and Thailand as a premium diesel blend.
GTL projects
In 1993 we began operating the first commercial GTL plant of its kind in Malaysia. Currently we are working in partnership in Qatar to build Pearl GTL, the world’s largest GTL plant.
