What is your current role at Shell?

I support the execution of floating deepwater projects, both domestically and internationally. I provide technical expertise, project management skills, leadership, and team/customer focused interpersonal skills. I’m also responsible for providing project support and leadership, accountability for cost, schedule and HSE performance as well as support for portfolio strategies and community processes which enhance overall group performance.

What do you like best about your role?

I like my team and the working environment. I enjoy being involved in diverse project-related activities with varied groups of people. I welcome the opportunity to get involved in new techniques and processes. Plus, I am empowered by a significant level of independence to perform my own activities.

Tell us about your background and experience

I hold a Master in Business Administration degree (MBA) and am an Electrical Engineer with 17 years of Project Management experience in onshore pipelines, pump stations, offshore topsides facilities, riser systems, subsea tiebacks, fabrication, commissioning, and power generation facilities. Before joining Shell, I have worked as a Project Manager in both Colombia and Houston with an international exploration and productions company and as an Electrical & Communications Field Engineer working for the construction department of an international petrochemical company.

What makes you stay at Shell?

The opportunity to be a part of Shell’s legacy and contribute to making a difference in many people’s lives is something that has great appeal.

Shell clearly cares for their people ¬– for instance in their work/life balance, mature processes, and their approach to developing and retaining people.

It seems to me that at Shell, diversity is not just another slogan but actually something you can feel. It is implemented on a daily basis through the professionalism expressed in day-to-day activities and relationships.
