What is your current role at Shell?

I manage a group that originates and markets risk management products – including financial, physical and combinations of natural gas, oil, power, emissions and weather products – to utilities, municipalities, co-ops, financial institutions and commercial end users. We also provide transaction structuring, risk management advisory and support to other Shell trading units.

What do you like best about your role?

When I came to Shell, I got to build a brand new business – selecting a team as well as developing and executing strategy. The Shell brand gets you in the door but you still need to demonstrate innovation and a willingness to listen to customer needs, which is what makes my role rewarding and interesting.

Tell us about your background and experience

I started on Wall Street in commodities trading and arbitrage with Bear Stearns. I then transitioned into financial advisory and client-driven marketing with Deutsche Bank. I was able to drill down on physical gas and power markets working for major energy marketers. I am also a CFA charter holder.

What makes you stay at Shell?

Given that I have had a lot of experience in the energy and capital markets, there are fantastic opportunities in business and for leadership. From my perspective, Shell will be an exciting and profitable place, where I can continue to enjoy those opportunities.
