What is your current role at Shell?

I am the controller for Shell Venezuela Productos – a role I started in February this year. Basically, I am the custodian of the framework for business control and the management of information. I am responsible for ensuring the provision of relevant, accurate and timely information to key stakeholders. I also have responsibilities for assurance processes and tax management.

What do you like best about your role?

This role allows me to interact with different businesses in order to share financial results, create action plans and contribute to business goals. I also enjoy the open environment, which greatly encourages personal skill development and creates winning teams.

Tell us about your background and experience

I worked for five years as financial auditor and consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and then moved to the local petrochemical industry as an internal auditor. I started with Shell in 1992 in an exploration and production business called Hocol, where I worked as the joint venture accountant and finance planning coordinator for about five years. I then began work on a special business improvement project and transferred to oil products (Shell Colombia) where my roles included finance planning coordinator, commercial business support and finally as BPI project manager.

What makes you stay at Shell?

I like the work, I am committed to the company, and there are many opportunities for professional development. Shell is a dynamic company that offers many challenges.
