How would you describe your role at Shell?

With an average age of 33, China Lubricants is a very young, dynamic and fast growing organisation. I honestly feel that I've been given one of the best business opportunities in Global Lubes, and one of the most satisfying jobs currently available in Shell's Downstream business.

How would you describe your typical day?

My promise as the China General Manager is that I will spend 50% of my time on talent development, 30% on sales leadership, and 20% on the Route to Market work we are completing to refocus our distributor network in China. The beauty of the China market is that you can never predict the fresh challenges that arise each day.

Have you received any training in Shell?

I have attended a part-time MBA course as well as various leadership programs (Group Business Leadership Programme, Shell Leadership Challenge, Coaching for Performance). Shell has also sponsored an external executive coach for me which is key to accelerating my personal development.

What do you like most about your job?

The opportunity to be part of China's "Industry Revolution" and to shape its future business leaders.
