What is your current role at Shell?

I am a Database Administrator (DBA) under the umbrella of Business Solution Hosting (BSH). I am involved in database design, monitoring and planning. Part of my job is to uphold the standards set by internal committees as well as execute Service Availability (SA) tasks for support of the databases.

 

What do you like best about your role?

I would say the team effort. As a team, everyone does their share of the job to achieve common goals. The team spirit is high and you can see it everywhere within the company.
 
The opportunity to experience diversity is readily available. Here in Shell it’s possible to work with people from all corners of the earth. I meet other DBAs with a different background and experience and we share our ideas freely.

 

Tell us about your background and experience

My background is engineering and I have a degree in Electrical Engineering. Prior to joining Shell, I worked as a Systems Engineer with a broadcasting company in Kuala Lumpur.
