Why did you join Shell?

Shell offers great opportunities for young specialists. Challenging assignments, the opportunity to work with top professionals, and unlimited possibilities for career growth made Shell the only option for me.

 

How would you describe your role at Shell?

Shell sets high standards for it employees and as an Account manager I do my best to increase the client base and promote sales. The major part of my work is creating and implementing a value proposition for our clients. That includes everything from employee training to marketing and brand promotion.

 

Tell us about your background and experience

I have about six years of HR experience that started in a position with Pizza Inn Corporation. I continued in HR administration with convention centers, service centers and as an HR representative.
 
A friend who works at Shell referred me to the company. I was impressed by their reputation, diversity and breadth of opportunities.

 

How would you describe your typical day?

It is hard to describe a typical day, since every day offers new challenges to find the optimal way of reaching targets. Training, communication and datasheet analysis are all part of a day’s work.

 

What do you like most about the job?

The communication aspects, along with the ability to see and feel the results. When you see new trucks using Shell lubricants, you know you’ve done your job properly. Promoting a high quality product also makes me proud of the brand.

 

What other career options did you consider?

I initially wanted to use my academic achievements to be a part of a business consultancy or auditing company – but I also wanted to be able to see the results of my work and interact with new people, so chose sales.

 

Have you travelled to other countries/regions within your role?

Shell teaches and trains employees – and encourages results from its people. I enjoy attracting new clients across Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova. Within the first two months I’ve already been to three different countries, and have seen five new cities across Russia, from Omsk to Saratov.
