Shell WindEnergy - Colorado Green

Colorado Green, is Shell’s largest commercial scale project. The 162 megawatt (MW) wind power facility is located 23 miles south of Lamar, Prowers Country, Colorado - USA. The wind park was constructed in 2003 with a construction time of 6 months.

 

The wind farm consists of 108 GE Wind Energy 1.5 MW turbines and is expected to generate enough electricity to serve around 52,000 American households. Shell WindEnergy and PPM Energy. own the project in a 50/50 joint venture.
