No concrete commitments in Copenhagen

In December 2009, Denmark hosted the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15) where world leaders gathered to discuss the risks of climate change and what can be done to mitigate them. The main objective of the summit was to agree to global reductions in the emission of carbon dioxide, which is widely viewed as a major contributing factor to global warming.
