Shell Global Solutions and Samir sign strategic contract to support long-term refining development in Morocco

Under the agreement, Shell Global Solutions will provide technical consulting to SAMIR's refinery operations.  Key areas of focus will be supporting the integration of new process units coming online as part of a modernisation program and training for new staff. The agreement establishes a flexible working model under which the parties can agree to focus on specific areas of support as necessary. It provides for the transfer of intellectual property and knowledge from Shell Global Solutions to SAMIR and for skill development for SAMIR employees. Shell Global Solutions will add value for SAMIR in the following ways: 

• Short term: Enable tangible performance improvement
• Medium term: Researching options and means for strengthening operational safety and environmental protection, and improving the quality of petroleum products.
• Long term: Support SAMIR local staff
