If durability is key, we offer Shell Cariphalte designed to provide improved performance compared to conventional bitumen, with the benefit of more than 40 years of our expertise in polymer modified binders.

Lower odour

If you’re looking to be a good neighbour in the community, we offer Shell Bitumen Fresh. This uses a new technology to neutralise odour generated during asphalt manufacture and laying rather than mask it.

Reduced energy

If you’re looking to reduce your energy consumption during road construction, there’s Shell WAM^® Foam process with over 10 years of technical expertise behind it. This process uses less energy and can reduce CO₂ emissions during asphalt manufacturing and laying by up to 35%¹.

Improved safety

For safety, we offer Shell Mexphalte C, a clear binder for use in coloured asphalts. This is ideal for use in tunnels to create a light coloured asphalt for improved visibility, or alternatively to create a more durable² demarcation for traffic segmentation in bus and cycle lanes. It’s an area in which we have more than 40 years experience in clear binder technology.

Productivity

Plus when improved productivity is important, our Shell S-Grades’ advanced viscosity technology is designed to help accelerate productivity, which can allow roads to be opened to traffic sooner.
