Shell Floraphalte hits the streets
The newest member of the Bitumen family was introduced to the world this week with Shell Floraphalte's official launch at a customer event in France.
The plant-based clear binder is manufactured using renewable ingredients, mixed with a high performance polymer to ensure excellent performance and durability.

The clear-based binder is for use in urban settings (footpaths, cycle-ways etc). Its clear properties mean that colours can be introduced in order to deliver coloured asphalt applications to complement the surrounding location, bringing greater choice to customers who wish to bring colour and environmental benefits to their designs.
While other products in Shell Bitumen's portfolio also bring colour to towns and cities (for example Shell Mexphalte C and Shell Spramul C), Shell Floraphalte represents Shell Bitumen's continuing journey to deliver renewable binders derived from non-petroleum feedstocks. While there is still plenty of work to do to find even more sustainable, 2nd generation feedstocks, Shell Floraphalte is a step on that journey, offering our customers a practical, and renewable solution for coloured and natural asphalt applications.
