Today, Shell Aviation announced it has started operations at Kraków International Airport, extending its refuelling network in Poland. Petra Koselka, General Manager of Shell Aviation for Europe said: “Beginning operations in Kraków Airport highlights our commitment to the aviation industry in Poland, as well as our customers who operate there. Poland is an important market for us and we look forward to providing our customers with the excellent refuelling service they have come to expect from us”.

Jan Pamuła, President of the Management Board of Kraków Airport added: “We are enthusiastic about cooperating with such a prestigious fuel provider as Shell. Shell is now the third fuels supplier operating at our airport.  We are pleased with this growth as it offers flight operators and airlines greater choice. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of service and cooperating with Shell will greatly contribute to this.”

Situated in the south of Poland, Kraków is the country’s second largest city and one of its most important economic centres. Serving the city and its surrounding areas, Kraków Airport is classed as the largest regional airport in Poland and is used for passenger, charter and military flights. It is experiencing rapid growth in the number of passengers passing through it, with nearly 3.5 million in 2012.

Shell’s operations began at Kraków Airport on April 1 2013. Aside from fuel supply, it also benefits from Shell’s extensive experience in working with airport authorities and other stakeholders to improve overall airport safety and fuelling operating standards.
