Shell Aviation Gains Supply Entry into Roskilde Airport, Denmark

Shell Aviation (SAV) today announced it has signed a Concession Agreement to operate as a fuel supplier at Roskilde Airport in Denmark (RKE). As well as enabling SAV to provide fuel supply and refuelling services to airlines, the agreement will increase supply security and competitiveness at the airport.

Situated 30 minutes from Copenhagen, Roskilde Airport is primarily used for business aviation, flight instruction, taxi and training flights with aircraft taking off and landing approximately every five minutes.  Large carriers operate out of RKE including major global business jet operators and regional business carriers.

For Shell, entry into RKE will help cement its reputation as leading business jet fuel supplier.  It also reflects Shell’s Downstream selective growth strategy and facilitates an increased network capability to key airline partners.

Sjoerd Post, Vice President, Shell Aviation, explains: “Shell is very much looking forward to working in partnership with Roskilde where we aim to target not only the business segment, but also small aircraft customers requiring Avgas.  This is an exciting time to be joining forces with the airport and we believe our entry will enhance RKE’s refuelling capabilities by providing more competitive fuel prices and improved service quality to the airlines.”

Lars Lip, RKE Airport Manager, added: “With Shell’s entry at Roskilde Airport we will get an additional fuel supplier with a strong regional team, that will compete in sales and marketing of aviation fuels at RKE, to the benefit of our customer.”

Following construction works in the summer, Shell Aviation aims to be supplying fuel from RKE by the end of the year.
