Shell Rimula R6 LME
New Shell Rimula R6 LME. Our hardest working oil.
As the latest member of the Shell Rimula family of heavy-duty diesel engine oils,
new and improved Shell Rimula R6 LME continues our commitment to providing innovative technology solutions. Despite being developed to benefit today’s engines, Shell Rimula R6 LME also manages to meet the requirements of Euro 6 vehicle technologies, the engines of tomorrow.
Shell Rimula R6 LME is proven to reduce the overall cost of fleet ownership through a number of key benefits, including improved engine protection and better fuel economy. You can find out more about these benefits in the highlighted areas below.
UP TO 2% FUEL SAVINGS ¹
It’s been independently proven that Shell Rimula R6 LME can make a positive contribution to lowering fuel consumption and the costs of your business overall. Lower viscosity lubricants like new R6 LME help lower fuel consumption by reducing the energy loss caused by friction.
LOWER EXHAUST EMISSIONS ²
Managing exhaust emissions is important, not only to comply with legislative requirements but also to ensure efficient operations, as blocked exhaust filters can actually increase fuel consumption. The low-ash additive system in Shell Rimula R6 LME is designed to control filter blocking and maintain excellent control of wear and deposits.
UP TO 56% BETTER PROTECTION AGAINST ENGINE WEAR ³
Good engine durability is essential to minimise unplanned downtime and maximise engine life. Developed by our scientists, the anti-wear booster in Shell Rimula R6 LME provides extra protection against wear in highly stressed areas of the engine.
LONGER OIL DRAIN INTERVALS ⁴
Many engine manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz, assess the optimum drain interval of oil on its performance in relation to piston cleanliness. The new and improved formulation for Shell Rimula R6 LME delivers outstanding piston cleanliness throughout the oil maintenance interval.
UP TO 56% CLEANER PISTONS ⁵
Approved for long-drain-interval application by Mercedes-Benz and others, Shell Rimula R6 LME exceeded the piston cleanliness of Daimler’s most demanding limits by 56% in the MB OM 501 LA test.
- Over a 100,000 km oil drain interval, compared with a typical 10W-40 oil in a controlled field trial.
- Unique low-ash addictive system designed to control diesel particulate filter (DPF) blocking.
- Compared to the MB 228.51 engine oil specification limit, as measured in the MB OM 646 LA Engine Test.
- Dependent on vehicle type and application.
- Compared to the MB 228.51 engine oil specification limit, as measured in the MB OM 501 LA Test.
