Ferrari Formula One™
Stefano Domenicali. Sporting Director, Scuderia Ferrari Formula One™
Ferrari Formula One™ Team
Alongside Shell, Scuderia Ferrari has claimed ten Formula One™ Constructors' Championships, making it one of the most successful partnerships in motorsport history. With eight titles in the past ten seasons, Scuderia Ferrari and Shell have dominated Formula One™ since 1999 - as a result of the belief and hard work of the entire team. The structures put in place by the management have led the team to victory and will be a critical factor in the continued success of the Prancing Horse.
Stefano Domenicali is in his third year as Sporting Director of the Ferrari Formula One™ team. His responsibilities include abiding by the Formula One™ regulations, looking after the team members and a huge amount of the day-to-day work within the team. Stefano has won the Constructors' title with Ferrari in both seasons that he has been in charge.
Gilles Simon. Scuderia Ferrari Engine Director
Ferrari Formula One™ Engines
The regulations for the 2009 Formula One™ season will subtly change the way the cars look, drive and behave, but one of the more dramatic differences is the lifespan of the engine. The V8 inside the F60 needs to last up to 2,500km in 2009 - nearly double the distance of the F2008. Shell works alongside Ferrari to develop its lubricants to eradicate power loss and engine wear over the extended distance.
Gilles Simon has been the head of engine development at Scuderia Ferrari since October 2006, having taken over from Paolo Martinelli. Gilles joined Ferrari from Peugeot Sport in 1994, following compatriot Jean Todt to the Prancing Horse. Since that time Ferrari has achieved unrivalled success with both V10 and V8 engines.
