Ian Albiston
Ian has now notched up over 30 years experience of instrumental analysis. He worked for three years in New Zealand on laboratory computer systems before joining Shell in 1997 and the Formula One™ programme in 2001.
Whilst his colleagues are away at races, it is Ian Albiston who ensures Ferrari receives the right Shell products at the right place and at the right time. Based primarily at Shell Global Solutions in the UK, Ian ensures the complex logistics process is carried out flawlessly.
He manages deliveries to the 19 countries and five continents on the Formula One™ calendar, as well as to the numerous test tracks and the factory at Maranello.
Albiston also coordinates the blending schedule for the broad portfolio of products used by Scuderia Ferrari, such as Shell V-Power Racing fuel and Shell Helix lubricants. As the focal point for any product queries from Ferrari, Albiston enjoys close collaboration with Scuderia Ferrari’s technical department all year round.
Having previously spent seven years working as an analyst in the Shell Trackside Laboratory at each Grand Prix, Albiston is now in his fifth year as Project Manager ensuring that the complex Formula One™ programme is delivered on time and to budget.
Albiston will also be in attendance at some races in 2012 as the technical focal point inside the Shell Trackside Laboratory.
