Alan Wardle has been working at Shell for 25 years, having completed his studies in Chemistry up to the level of Licentiate of the Royal Society of Chemistry (LRSC) during the early 1980s.

For the majority of the last 20 years he has been looking after the maintenance and calibration of analytical equipment in the Stanlow refinery plant laboratories in the UK, which have been the focal point for the analysis activity since 2003.

Wardle joined the Shell Trackside team late in 2008, making his first visit to the famous Maranello Formula One™ headquarters in Italy in November of that year and beginning to familiarise himself with the Scuderia Ferrari working environment.

Wardle’s role in the 2012 team is to support the Scuderia at a number of races from within the Shell Trackside Laboratory. He also carries out the servicing of the analytical equipment and facilities at Maranello.
