Learn how Massimo’s economics degree set him on course for Scuderia Ferrari.

Born in Faenza (Ravenna, Italy) on 7 December 1971, Massimo Rivola graduated in economics in 1996 from the University of Bologna.

He started working in Formula One™ in 1998 for Minardi’s marketing department. In 2000 he became head of the team’s sponsor department and was promoted to Marketing Manager two years later.

In 2003 he became involved directly in motorsports activities with Minardi as team vice-manager. In 2004 he was promoted to Team Manager, the equivalent of Scuderia Ferrari’s Sporting Director, a position he retained in 2006 when the team was bought by Red Bull and became Scuderia Toro Rosso.

In early 2009 he moved to Scuderia Ferrari, where he is Sporting Director.
