Phil Freeman Interview Transcript
Written transcript of the Phil Freeman interview video.
The scene opens as an F2007 races across the screen and the high-pitched scream of the engine is heard.
As Phil Freeman begins to speak, he is seen in his office preparing for a days work.
"My name's Phil Freeman, and I'm the Shell Lubricants Blending Plant Manager. I supply the full package of lubricants and coolants for the Ferrari race team. Approximately 40 tons of product per year for Ferrari."
Another F2007 is shown on track before the scene cuts back to Phil behind his desk. As Phil speaks, various shots are shown of the plant, lubricant production process and him interacting with other employees.
"The blending plant that Shell have at Chester is the best of each plant. Pretty well every single blend that comes through this plant is unique and a one-off. Developing the perfect lubricant is a little like developing the perfect wine. In fact, many of the techniques we use are very similar."
One of the best things about my job is the close team that we have here at Shell. I thoroughly enjoy this job because it allows me to mix my hobby with my work. Ferrari are one of our most demanding customers. Often we have to work weekends, but we celebrate hard afterwards.
"I have a great team of people working with me that I know I can rely on, and we've never failed to deliver on time."
The scene closes as a fork lift drives out of the plant in fast forwarded motion, accompanied by the sound of an F2007 race car.
