Shell and Churchill Club
In 2011, Shell established an alliance with Churchill Club, an independent and non-profit business and technology forum located in Silicon Valley, California, USA. The club organises regular programmes that allow CEOs, thought leaders, business executives, innovators, and senior politicians from across the world to discuss the latest global developments with a view toward driving innovation and economic growth for societal benefit. Our relationship allows Shell to contribute as a thought leader in energy and innovation.
Shell CEO Peter Voser interviewed by Forbes publisher and Churchill Club founder Rich Karlgaard
A candid conversation between Royal Dutch Shell Chief Executive Officer Peter Voser and Rich Karlgaard, publisher of Forbes and Churchill Club founder, attracted a Silicon Valley audience of over 200 to the Churchill Club event on 21 March 2012. The conversation covered topics ranging from the need to speed up the innovation process, to the future of energy and the growing global demands for energy and water.
Following the interview, Peter Voser took questions from business leaders, academics and innovators in the audience.
This was the second Shell event with Churchill Club. In September 2011, Shell was a lead sponsor of Churchill Club’s 25th anniversary programme focused on innovation and change. Russ Conser, head of the Shell GameChanger programme, which helps turn new concepts on energy production into reality, led a session on how companies can spark creative ideas.
The next joint Shell and Churchill Club event is September 2012, when an annual innovation conference takes place.
