  2. Complete all information in English only.
  3. Access the online registration area using the details provided in your Phase I completion email.
  4. Download and print a copy of your completed Phase I application and have it signed by your School, Institution or Educational Director. Get the signed form stamped with your institution's official stamp.
  5. Scan and upload your signed and stamped Phase I no later than 31 October 2012.

Please note
: Incomplete applications, applications that are not completed in English, or applications without an institution signature and/or stamp will not be accepted.

The Shell Eco-marathon Selection Committee will then decide which teams will be invited to participate in Shell Eco-marathon Europe 2013. The selection will be based on the relative strength of applications but will also consider criteria to ensure the greatest diversity as possible in terms of competing countries, educational institutions, fuel categories and engine types.

All decisions taken by the Selection Committee are final and no discussions will be entered into. Teams will be notified of their Phase I results by email on 15 November 2012.

Closed 9 January 2013

Selected teams will be provided with further details on how to complete Phase II in their Phase I selection result e-mail. Only teams that fully complete Phase II on time and in English will be accepted.

Any Phase I selected team that submits an incomplete or incorrect Phase II application will be automatically disqualified at this point.

The teams that make it through to the Phase II selection will receive their results by email in January 2013.

See below for some helpful hints for completing your Phase II application

  1. Mandatory fields marked with an asterisk (*) must be completed. Other fields are optional. Remember, the more information you include, the better chance we have to get an idea of your project.

  2. Once you have completed all the fields in each section, don’t forget to click on ‘submit’ before moving to the next section or the information will be lost and you’ll have to start again!

  3. Tip: Clicking on the ‘Summary’ link at the top of the list of links on the right-hand side of the page will take you to a ‘Roadmap’ page where you can see at a glance which sections you have successfully completed and which still need to be filled in. The project details are green the first time you log in because this section is optional.

We will communicate the Phase II selection results at the beginning of January (exact date to be determined).

What type of photos and drawings do we want?

Upload button

We want you to upload photos and technical drawings of your vehicle design and the different vehicle parts. This, in combination with the written text that you provide, will give us a good idea of your project, and the vehicle you aim to participate with during Shell Eco-marathon Europe 2013.

We want you to upload digital technical drawings and pictures where required. Upload documents in PDF format only, with a maximum file size of 1MB.

The Shell Eco-marathon Selection Committee decides which teams are invited to participate in Shell Eco-marathon Europe ensuring maximum safety, efficiency and as much diversity as possible in terms of competing countries, education institutions, performances, fuel categories and engine types. Previous results will also be taken into consideration.

We want to offer everyone a fair chance to participate in this event under the best possible conditions. This means there will be a mix of new teams that have not yet participated in the event and teams that have already taken part. All decisions taken by the Selection Committee are final and no discussions will be entered into. Teams are notified of their results by email and updated on the website.
