Located on the west coast of Peninsula Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur or KL as it is commonly called, is the capital of Malaysia.  It covers an area of 243 sq km (94 square miles), with a population of approximately 1.6 million. KL is among the fastest growing metropolitan cities in the country, in terms of population and economy.

The fourth Shell Eco-marathon Asia will be held at Sepang International Circuit, home to the Malaysian leg of the Formula One™ championship, in Kuala Lumpur. This year will see teams from Asia and Middle East stretching the boundaries of energy efficiency.

The team from Thailand emerged as the champion for the third time last year, beating their previous record with a best attempt of 2,903 kilometres per litre of fuel. Let’s see if this new record can be beaten this year.
