The 2015 competition takes place in Detroit, Michigan, from April 9-12, 2015.
The track in Detroit will be located on the streets near the Cobo Convention Center. More details will be available soon.
Rules and Regulations
Shell Eco-marathon Americas 2015 will be run under two sets of regulations: Global Rules - Chapter 1 and Americas Rules - Chapter 2. Remember to always read the rules carefully before the competition.
More information about the competition will be available in the Shell Eco-marathon Americas 2015 Rules - Chapter 2. Details about: prizes and awards; schedule of events; paddock, meals, parking and lodging; travel, travel stipends and shipping will be shared soon.
Teams are required to purchase and use the Shell Eco-marathon fuel tanks for all events. Prior years’ fuel tanks are perfectly acceptable. Below are the available options:
- 350ml = $175 USD
Additional fuel tank caps are also available for $10.
Detailed fuel tank dimensions are outlined in this document. We have also developed this short illustrative guide to help you prevent leaks in the tap of your fuel tank.
To order fuel tanks, please contact your Relationship Manager or send an email to email@example.com. VISA, MasterCard, AMEX and Discover Card are accepted. You will need to provide the following information: Desired quantity, credit card number, expiration date, security Code, shipping address and billing zip code.
Teams are not required to use Michelin tires and are free to use tires of their choosing. Please ensure that the tires properly fit the wheel. Below are the available options:
Michelin 44-406 Prototype tires (view photo) = $79 USD
- The specs for these tires are 44-406 (20" x 1.75"); inflate up to 50PSI

- Rolling resistance: 2 kg/t (Kilogramme/tonne)
Michelin UrbanConcept tires (view photo) = $235 USD

Michelin Radial 45-75 R16 tires (view photo) = $235 USD
