When does Phase II Registration open?

Phase II registration will be available to eligible teams on November 1. We will allow the Phase I teams access to Phase II once their signed school release from liability form has been approved.

Where can I find the 2013 SEMA Personal Assumption of Risk Waiver & Release from Liability document?

This will be available in the Phase II portion of the registration website. Please remember that minors must have the waivers signed by a parent or guardian and notarized.

Who needs to sign the School Release From Liability form?

The individual authorized to sign legal documents on behalf of the school needs to sign the School Release from Liability for and be the contact listed on the form.

Do we have to submit liability waivers for each team / car we enter?

Yes, each team must provide a completed, signed School Release from Liability form, even if they're from the same school.

What is the deadline for completing the Phase II deliverables?

The deadline for completing Phase II is February 28, 2013.

Why aren’t my Team Member / Team Details section completion flags showing up as completed?

All content under team members, including birth date, must be completed in order for this step to show as completed successfully (green flag.) Additionally, the number of team members listed under Team Details must match the number of individuals listed under Team Members. Teams must have at least one driver and one reserve driver.

They can have more if they wish. They also need at least one manager and advisor; again, they can have more if they wish. Other team individuals can be classified as

'members.'
The info can always be updated, but if new team members are added, they must submit their forms, etc. in order to successfully complete that portion of the road map.

Do non-team members need to register as official team member and submit their credentials?

We’ve received quite a few questions regarding who from each group needs to register as an official team member. Please note that the competition and paddock area are open to the public. If you plan to bring a sponsor, additional faculty members, parents or students who are NOT planning to participate in the event (a.k.a. spectators), they do not need to register, submit their proof of insurance or sign a release from liability form.

However, all students and faculty members that plan to work on the car and/or participate in the event MUST register as official team members, and therefore, will be required to register.

I currently list myself as team advisor for both teams that we are bringing. Is that correct?

Yes, you can be the advisor for both teams.

Do non-team members need to register for the event?

No, the event is free and open to the public. Anyone (parents, sponsors, other teachers, etc.) is welcome to attend and will be treated as a spectator. Spectators are allowed into the paddock area to see the vehicles. They can also watch the competition on the street.

Our driver has a driver’s permit. Does she/he need an actual license to drive?

Yes, the driver needs an actual, valid driver’s license.
