The track
The circuit in Rotterdam is a challenging urban track. With five 90-degree corners, teams’ driving skills will be tested more rigorously than on an off-road racetrack. Braking, accelerating and cornering skills will play a crucial part in reducing energy use.

- Track dimensions: The route is flat, with five turns at 90°.
- Distance: Teams must achieve 10 laps, totalling 16.3 km (10.1 miles), in less than 39 minutes to qualify.
- Speed: Around 25 km/h (15.5 mph)
- Features: 2012 is the first time Shell Eco-marathon Europe takes place on a public road.
