Malaysia’s Formula One™ racetrack will host Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2013 for the fourth consecutive year.
Sepang International Circuit
- Location: Sepang International Circuit, 85 km (53 miles) from Kuala Lumpur city centre, Malaysia.
- Type: Racetrack (home to the Malaysian leg of the Formula 1 World Championship and World Motorcycle Grand Prix).
- Track dimensions: Maximum width 20 metres (approx 66 feet) odd to use a decimal here – what is it in feet and inches?). Nine turns.
- Distance: The circuit is 2.8 km. Drivers must cover is 11.2 km (four laps of 2.8 km minus the distance between the start and finish lines).
- Speed: Prototype cars must travel at an average speed of approximately 30 km/h (19 mph). UrbanConcept cars must travel at an average speed of approximately 25 km/h (16 mph).
- Features: The track is electronically linked through a network of fibre-optic cabling systems along the track to multiple closed-circuit TV cameras, centrally monitored at the race control room.
