In Kuala Lumpur

The city of Kuala Lumpur covers an area of 243 km2 (94 square miles), with a population of about 1.6 million. It is among the fastest growing metropolitan regions in the country, in terms of population and economy.

Officially opened in 1999, the Sepang International Circuit is just 85 km (53 miles) from Kuala Lumpur.

Students from all over Asia will compete in this year’s Shell Eco-marathon Asia to stretch the limits of energy efficient design. They challenge teams from Thailand, which have emerged as champions for the last two years.

The current Asia fuel efficiency record stands at 2,213.4 kilometres (1,375 miles) per litre of fuel – let’s see if it will be broken this year.
