James B. Dudley High School - New Team, Old Parts
In 2011, only two students from their team were able to attend the competition, making the team feel as though something was missing from their experience.
To prevent that from happening again this year, the team rallied to secure additional sponsors and funding over the course of several months. Their hard work paid off – the team was able to send eight students to this year’s event.
In addition to its members, the James B. Dudley team’s two vehicles are also unique given that both are made primarily of recycled materials. Gathered from various sources, the materials that make up their vehicles this year include the base of an old tread mill, vacuum cleaner hoses, dog cages, cafeteria chairs, boogie boards and more.
