Record number of vehicles registered for Shell Eco-marathon Americas
More than 120 vehicles registered for Shell Eco-marathon Americas 2013 – already surpassing the number of vehicles at last year’s event. As teams begin arriving for the event, many work to solve last minute problems before getting on the track.
Shell Eco-marathon Americas 2013 in Houston, Texas is already in full-swing! More than 121 vehicles registered today, breaking last year’s all-time record of 119 cars!
With students busy getting ready to pass through technical inspection, some are scrambling to solve last minute problems. For the student team from Guatemala, the toughest part – getting to the event – is already over.
While trying to ship their car to the United States, they ran in to some trouble and now must borrow an engine from another team in order to compete. Fortunately, the team from George M. Schurr was able to spare an engine, and the Guatemala team now is busy getting their car ready for the challenge.
