Meet Shell people at TEDGlobal 2012
Representatives from Shell attend TEDGlobal 2012 to share their experience and ideas.
Adam Newton, Manager Business Environment and Strategy
Adam mananges strategy and scenario planning projects for Shell.
His team are responsible for providing regular insights and analysis to Shell's leaders on emerging social and cultural issues.
Graham van’t Hoff, Chairman Shell UK and Executive Vice President, CO2 and Alternative Energies
Graham joined Shell in 1984 after obtaining a degree in Chemistry from Oxford. He also holds a Masters in Business Management, with Distinction, from Manchester Business School.
Graham has held roles in the UK, Netherlands and USA, with business experience predominantly in Europe, North America and Asia.
A substantial proportion of his career has been in the chemicals business. Graham has also held roles in corporate planning and IT and his last role was Global Vice President Base Chemicals. Graham is on the CBI Climate Change Board and the boards of the Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership, the Oxford Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, Race for Opportunity and Youth at Risk.
Lee-Anne Barraclough, Head of Communications – UK, Ireland & Nordics
Lee-Anne Barraclough is Head of Communications – UK, Ireland & Nordics, based in London. Her responsibilities include oversight for corporate communications, PR, social investment, stakeholder engagement and issues management for Shell.
Lee-Anne joined Shell International in 1986 in London as a Lubricants Business Development Manager. She held assignments in differing areas of the business including refining, supply, retail marketing, lubricants marketing and change management before moving into corporate communications.
As Oil Products Communications Manager, Lee-Anne was responsible for corporate communications for the Oil Products CEO. She then became Head of Communications for Shell’s Retail, Lubricants, B2B and Chemicals businesses.
Norbert Both, Vice-President Corporate Communications
Norbert Both has fifteen years of experience in communication and foreign policy. In 2006 he joined Shell as Senior Speechwriter; and is currently Vice-President Corporate Communications, responsible for supporting the CEO and CFO in their external communications.
Former diplomat in the Netherlands diplomatic service; held several positions, including speechwriter to the Foreign Minister. Co-Author, Srebrenica: Record of a War Crime (1996). Member of the Board, Netherlands Atlantic Association. PhD in International Relations, University of Sheffield.
Nick Allen, Vice President Downstream Policy, Advocacy and Low Carbon New Business Development
He leads the company’s Downstream policy and advocacy activity, as well as carrying accountability for all of Shell’s road transport policy and advocacy.
Nick’s low carbon portfolio includes responsibilities for developing new customer businesses, with a special focus on cities, as well as overseeing the company’s Downstream internal low carbon initiatives.
Finally, Nick leads an team of internal management consults who provide challenge and intellectual horsepower on a range of key company projects.
