Shell and Churchill Club
Shell established an alliance with Churchill Club, an independent, non-profit business and technology forum located in Silicon Valley, California, USA, in 2011. The club organises regular programmes that allow CEOs, thought leaders, business executives, innovators, and senior politicians from around the world to discuss the latest global developments. The organisation aims to help drive innovation and economic growth to benefit society. Our relationship allows us to contribute as a thought leader in energy and innovation.
Peter Schwartz and Mandar Apte on stage in 2013
Shell took to the stage at the September 2013 Churchill Club annual conference, “Changing the Game: Power,” as innovation champion sponsor and in dialogue about power – from personal, to organisational, to geopolitical.
Shell GameChanger Mandar Apte discussed inner power with Peter Schwartz, SVP of Global Government Relations of Salesforce.com. He spoke about how to develop inner capacity and competencies to be more effective in innovation environments.
Shell also displayed the Ferrari F1 show car to demonstrate the power of partnerships – in this case, one of the most successful and forward-looking technical partnerships in contemporary motorsport. Together, Shell and Scuderia Ferrari have amassed 12 Drivers’ Championships and 10 Constructors’ Championships.
Conference attendees also heard from other visionaries who are changing the world, interacted with organisations that are shaping the future, contributed their own ideas, and participated in power-training workshops.
This was the fifth Shell and Churchill Club event.
