Shell and Churchill Club
Shell established an alliance with Churchill Club, an independent, non-profit business and technology forum located in Silicon Valley, California, USA, in 2011. The club organises regular events that allow CEOs, thought leaders, business executives, innovators, and senior politicians from around the world to discuss the latest global developments. The organisation aims to help drive innovation and economic growth to benefit society. Our relationship allows us to contribute as a thought leader in energy and innovation.
Shell again featured prominently as the Innovation Champion Sponsor at the annual Churchill Club awards – “The Churchills” – in September 2014.
The fifth annual event to highlight excellence in innovation, leadership, collaboration, and social benefit for the purpose of inspiring others, honoured winners in four categories.
Geoffrey Moore, master of ceremonies and Silicon Valley advisor and author, with Qualcomm’s Paul Jacobs, winner of the Legendary Leader award
The award winners were: Airbnb (Game Changer award), Qualcomm Executive Chairman Paul Jacobs (Legendary Leader award), the Tesla Model S Design team (Magical Team award), and Malala Yousafzai (Global Benefactor award).
Each inspiring winner shared their perspectives and insights about what is needed to innovate, lead, collaborate, and contribute to the greater good.
The four were selected by the Churchill Club Academy – a group of 700 people representing a diversity of the innovation community, from senior executives and professionals, to academics, professors, students, and influential members of the press.
