Your package will vary depending on your role and location but here are the main benefits we offer employees:
Financial rewards and benefits programme
On top of your competitive starter salary, you’ll be recognised and rewarded through performance-related pay and bonuses. Our Benefits are aligned to local market practice and often include pension/retirement plans and healthcare coverage. Some locations offer subsidised services such as sports facilities, medical/dental care and car-parking, and in some countries, you’ll have the chance to participate in a Sharesave programme.
Shell Sharesave Scheme
Approved by the Inland Revenue and administered by the Halifax, our Sharesave Scheme allows Shell employees in the UK to save money and invest in Royal Dutch Shell plc. You can decide how much you want to save and for how long.
At the end of the savings period, you can either withdraw your savings in cash along with a tax-free bonus from the Halifax, or use the equivalent amount to buy shares in Royal Dutch Shell plc.
Balancing work and life
Wherever possible we provide flexible working patterns and you may be able to work remotely from home. Some locations offer flexi-time so you can start your working day earlier or later to fit your needs.
Time off and time out
We offer market aligned levels of annual leave and maternity/paternity leave allowances and we do all we can to accommodate career breaks and sabbaticals in countries where it is applicable. We also encourage you to step beyond the work environment to participate in social responsibility projects, employee interest groups or campus recruitment (which gives you the chance to meet with university students).
Sports and social activities
Whatever your interests, there’s likely to be a Shell sports and social group that you can get involved with – for example, the Shell Sports Club, Shell Women’s Network, Shell African Network, Shell Disability Network and many more. In some locations around the world, we offer gym facilities, swimming pools, tennis courts, sailing and scuba diving.
Listening to our employees
We regularly conduct surveys amongst employees to identify any issues or areas for improvement. This can take the form of online surveys, discussion forums or interactive webcasts. For example, we regularly conduct the online ‘Shell People Survey’ on a global basis. This gives everyone a chance to make suggestions on improving the work environment, developing policies or addressing areas of concern.
