Shell is currently recruiting talented legal counsel to work as advisors and partners across our business and around the world.

You’ll work closely with some of the energy industry’s leading technical and business experts, helping us define our approach to delivering the energy solutions the world urgently needs.

We’re looking for people who have made a real impact in their current roles, and who are ready to move to a corporate in-house team to take up the fresh opportunities that such a position presents.

Your challenge will be to deliver the superior standard of legal advice we need to stay at the forefront of our sector. At the same time, you’ll need the ability to deal successfully with a broad variety of legal work. And you’ll need the strong influencing and negotiation skills required to work with internal and external stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Specifically we are looking for candidates for the following in-house legal syndicates:

• Projects & Technology, Netherlands-based
  We are looking for someone with extensive experience in major transactions involving international engineering houses or EPC contractors, preferably in the oil & gas sector. You’ll have advanced to a position of junior partner in private practice or a position of equivalent experience in-house, and you’ll relish the chance to apply your experience to Shell’s global portfolio of capital projects.

• Global Litigation, UK and Netherlands-based
  We need experienced litigators with hands-on litigation and arbitration experience in managing complex, high-value disputes. With roles in the UK and Netherlands, you’ll support diverse businesses within Shell such as Shipping & Trading, Global Commercial (Downstream), Upstream International, IP, Property and Supply & Distribution, in a variety of jurisdictions.

• Trading, Netherlands-based
  We are looking for an experienced legal counsel to support Shell’s Trading and Shipping business. You’ll need the legal credibility to deliver quick and robust legal advice to Shell’s traders and operators based in Rotterdam.
