Shell Gabon took part in the National Forum on Local Content, staged by the Ministry of Oil and Hydrocarbons from 6 to 8 July 2015. The event brought together a broad spectrum of stakeholders (multinationals, SMEs from Gabon and others). Aims of the Forum included thinking about effective ways of promoting Gabonese businesses in the oil industry.
On 25 June 2015, Shell Gabon celebrated the 30th anniversary of the strike of oil at Rabi, the biggest onshore oil field ever discovered in sub-Saharan Africa. Gracing the occasion with their presence were Messrs. Etienne Ngoubou, Minister of Oil and Hydrocarbons, Gabriel Tchango, Minister of Commerce, SMEs, Crafts and Service Development, Henri Max Ndong Nzue, Managing Director of Total Gabon, Charles Tchen, board-member of Shell Gabon and Arnaud Engandji, presidential adviser.
From Wednesday 6 to Friday 8 May 2015, Shell Gabon staged the first round of its 2015 conference series “Conférences Shell.”
On Thursday February 26, 2015, Shell Gabon hosted the Shell Entreprendre Award Ceremony at its Libreville offices. Among the audience were Etienne Ngoubou, the Minister for Oil and Hydrocarbons; Simon Ntoutoume Emane, the Minister for Labour, Employment and Vocational Training; Jean Baptiste Bikalou, the President of the Chamber of Commerce; and a number of technical and financial partners.
Shell Gabon’s Local Content Policy, officially launched on February 21, 2014, by Godson Njoku, the CEO and Country Chair of Shell Gabon, is designed to identify, within the supply chain, those projects, operations and opportunities for procuring goods and services that can be sourced through local companies.
