Registration process

Phase 1

Phase 1: Team Interest

Phase I: September 28 to October 26, 2015.

Teams must submit basic vehicle information, contact details, vehicle photos or drawings and are required to upload a signed and stamped document from their school/university.

Due to the popularity of the event, the number of teams allowed to enter the competition in 2016 will be limited. Should there be more applicants than the maximum number of teams permitted, the organising team will follow strict selection criteria.

Remember that in 2016, each institution (school/university) can enter a maximum of one (01) Prototype and one (01) UrbanConcept vehicle in different energy types.

Shell Eco-marathon Europe follows a strict selection process, favouring teams with higher levels of readiness and compliance to the Shell Eco-marathon Global Rules – Chapter 1, as well as promoting wide diversity in terms of competing countries, categories and energy types.

Phase 2

Phase 2 Registration and final selection

Teams selected in phase I will be eligible to register for phase II. During phase II, teams must provide precise technical information about the vehicle, including:

  • Engine specifications
  • Fuel system/supply
  • Vehicle circuitry/electrical System

Shell’s technical team will review and approve or decline your technical schematics.

Before submitting your application, make sure you read the Shell Eco-marathon 2016 Global Rules - Chapter 1 carefully.

Phase II is open from November 6 to December 15, 2015. Phase II results announced on January 15, 2016.
