Brian Davis was appointed Vice President Global Base Chemicals with effect from May 1, 2011.

Before this, Brian was Vice President Downstream Strategy where he had responsibility for developing strategies for Refining, Supply & Distribution, Fuels and Lubricants Marketing, Chemicals and Alternative Energies businesses. He also had accountability for global oil and chemical market analysis. 

Brian joined Shell Australia in 1988 after graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sydney.

Between 1988 and 1994 he held roles at Clyde Refinery spanning process technology, refinery planning and operations. Brian moved to The Netherlands in 1994 covering refining strategy and oil market analysis. 

Brian was appointed to the management team of Shell Turkey in 1997 with accountability for the refining, supply and distribution business. He subsequently moved to London to run Shell’s global crude oil chartering activities followed by his appointment in 2001 as General Manager of Shell West Supply and Trading in Barbados. 

Upon returning to London in 2005, Brian served as General Manager Supply Strategy Americas. A short spell as General Manager Lubricants Supply Chain for Europe and Africa followed before taking up the role of Vice President Downstream Strategy in 2009.

Brian lives in London and is married with twins. His interests include holidaying with his family, playing golf and watching rugby and cricket.
