Sharon Beshouri joined Shell Development in 1989 as a Research Scientist at the Westhollow Technology Center. During her twelve years in the technology organisation, she held a variety of roles including exploratory research in the New Chemical Technology group, Product and Manufacturing Support in Epoxy Resins, and Department Manager for CORTERRA® Polymers.

In 2002, Sharon accepted an assignment as Chemicals Planning Manager in Chemicals Corporate Finance and from there moved into Corporate Strategy, eventually becoming Technology Strategy Manager for Chemicals. Following that assignment, Sharon became General Manager of Base Chemicals – Aromatics in the Americas region, which was subsequently expanded to include all of the Base Chemicals co-products. In 2011, Sharon took up her current role as General Manager of Lower Olefins.

In 2012 she was given the additional responsibilities of President Shell Chemical LP.

Sharon is a native of Michigan and attended Kalamazoo College where she had the opportunity to study for a year abroad in Germany. Sharon graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa as a Chemistry major and received her PhD in Chemistry from Purdue University. Following a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California at Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley Labs, Sharon joined Shell.

Sharon is married with two daughters. In her free time she likes to read, cook and enjoys all things equestrian.
