Paul O'Dwyer

Paul joined Shell as a Chemical Engineer in 1990 after graduating from the University of Bath in the UK. He began his career as a technologist at Stanlow refinery.

In his career with Shell, Paul has worked in a variety of roles spanning refining and petrochemicals manufacturing, regional crude and product supply optimisation, regional oils-chemicals interface management, chemicals commercial management, global strategy and oil markets analysis.

In his previous role as General Manager Supply & Distribution South Africa, he led a business transformation including organisational restructuring, HSSE performance and asset integrity/process safety improvement, contract portfolio restructuring and improving organisational capability and culture. He also made a significant contribution to the country leadership team as a Board director for Shell South Africa and SAPREF Refining Company.

Paul was appointed General Manager Base Chemicals Asia Pacific on 1 June 2012 and is based in Singapore.

Paul is married and has three children. In his personal time he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring new destinations, golf, cycling, cooking and wine tasting.
