Colin McKendrick
General Manager: Propylene Oxide and Derivatives
Colin McKendrick was appointed Global General Manager, Propylene Oxide and Derivatives, with effect from February 1, 2010, and is based in London. Prior to this role, Colin worked on Downstream business development projects in China.
Colin has over 25 years of experience in the oil and petrochemical industry since joining Shell Research in 1984 at Thornton Research Centre in the UK. He moved to Shell Chemicals in 1989 and since then has undertaken a variety of roles in Chemicals and Downstream including: general management, venture management, business development, business strategy and planning. His roles have included a number of international assignments in Hong Kong, Singapore and China.
Colin was President of CESIO (the European Trade Association for Surfactants producers) in 2000/2001.
He holds a BSc (Hons) and PhD in Chemistry from the University of Edinburgh, UK and an MBA from the University of Durham, UK.
Colin is married with two girls and enjoys participating actively (or less actively as time passes) in a number of sports including golf, cricket, football, skiing and tennis.
