History
  • 1929 - Site purchased
  • 1955 - Chemical site started up
  • 1967 - First ethylene plant started
  • 1974 and 1981 - Major ethylene expansions
  • 1982 - Original ethylene plant, VCM (vinyl chloride monomer) and ANAG (acrolyn, glycerine and hydrogen peroxide) processes shutdown
  • 1995 - Shell Polypropylene purchased by Union Carbide
  • 1998 - Norco Manufacturing Complex split into Chemical and Refining businesses
  • 1999 - Expansion of Norco olefins business with OP-1 project
  • 2000 - Shell sells Resins business to Resolution Performance Products, with Resolution taking over operation of the resins units (presently owned by Momentive)
