In future, the world will need vast amounts of extra energy to support economic growth and reduce poverty. And energy will need to be produced and used in environmentally and socially responsible ways, including dealing with greenhouse gas emissions. First Pearl Gas to Liquids product off-take agreements signed
Qatar Petroleum (QP) and Qatar Shell GTL Limited (Shell) have signed two separate heads of agreements with Gulf Petroproducts Company EC (GPC) and Tamilnadu Petroproducts Limited (TPL) regarding supply of Gas to Liquids (GTL) Normal Paraffin from the Pearl GTL project in Qatar.

Overall, Shell sees a long term future for styrene and derivatives in Asia Pacific. There is no doubt that it is a very challenging and competitive market. However, growth remains robust, and if - as we expect - benzene prices weaken as supply increases, we will likely see a shift in value towards styrene and its derivatives.

QPI, PetroChina & Shell sign Letter of Intent for refinery and petrochemical manufacturing and marketing in China
In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Heir Apparent of the State of Qatar, Qatar signed today with PetroChina Company Limited (PetroChina), and Shell (China) Limited (Shell), a Letter of Intent (LOI) to commence joint preliminary studies to assess the viability of building a refinery and petrochemical manufacturing complex and marketing its products in China.
