Shell launches artificial intelligence-powered service for lubricant customers


Shell is the first company in the lubricants sector to launch an artificial intelligence-driven service for customers - Shell Virtual Assistant. It is an interactive one-stop shop on the Shell website where customers and distributors can ask common lubricant-related questions, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Shell introduces motorcycle oils made from natural gas


Motorcycles use less engine oil than trucks or cars and work it much harder. Combine that with increasing demand for extended oil drain intervals and improved fuel efficiency, and the oil needs to work harder for even longer. To help motorcycle owners meet these requirements and protect their engines, Shell has launched the next generation of premium motorcycle oil – Shell Advance Ultra with PurePlus Technology. This is the first-ever synthetic motorcycle oil made from natural gas using Shell proprietary gas-to-liquid (GTL) technology, marketed as Shell PurePlus Technology.

Shell further ups lubricant capacity in Greater China with eighth blending plant


Shell is set to meet growing lubricant demand in China with the opening of its eighth world-class lubricant blending plant in the country in Tianjin. This complements seven Shell lubricant blending plants already operating in greater China. The new plant can produce 330 million litres of finished product per year and has the potential to expand to 500 million litres. At its full potential capacity, the plant would be Shell's largest lubricant blending plant in China.

Asian drivers recognise impact of motor oil on fuel efficiency


In a survey of 5,000 people across five Asian countries – China, India, Pakistan, Singapore and Vietnam – Shell discovered that nine out of ten Asian drivers are aware that a high-quality motor oil can help improve their vehicle’s fuel efficiency. China (98%) was the highest, while Singapore (70%) was the lowest.

Hyundai recommends Shell as preferred aftermarket oil supplier for another five years


Today Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) and Shell Lubricants announced the renewal, for another five years, of their agreement for Shell to be recommended as the preferred aftermarket motor oil supplier for Hyundai vehicles worldwide. Branded motor oils manufactured by Shell will be recommended in Hyundai workshops and made available to customers in over 70 countries. The companies have now been cooperating for a decade.
