For the first time ever, visitors to the AeroShell booth were able to experience flying with the AeroShell Aerobatic Team through 360Virtual Reality. Many of the 2,000 people who experienced the ride called it the experience of a lifetime. Launched at the event, the 360 Virtual Reality experience gave participants a thrilling insight into the excitement of performing with the team. Dare to experience the thrill yourself.
AeroShell at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh
Shell Aviation offered a number of exciting and new activities from their AeroShell booth where over 15,000 Oshkosh attendees heard about AeroShell, the world’s best-selling piston-engine oil, at the 2016 EAA AirVenture at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, WI between 25-31 July.
Shell Aviation also shared with booth visitors, the world of the Shell Technology Centre Houston in Texas, USA through a unique behind the scenes tour. Shell Aviation is one of the few energy companies with a dedicated aviation research facility. Shell’s piston aircraft test rig, with full altitude simulation capability, is one of only two fully-instrumented engine test facilities worldwide. Over 1,200 people experienced this, learning more about what Shell Aviation scientists are working on to fuel the future of general aviation.

The event was also marked with technical talks and product demonstrations. Paul Royko, AeroShell’s Answer Man and piston engine oil specialist, shared with participants the fundamentals of today’s piston engine oils and talked about what the future of oils may look. As well as being on hand to answer questions about oils, live product demonstrations were performed.

For those brave enough, two sweepstakes ran through the week offering 4 lucky winners the chance to fly with the AeroShell Aerobatic Team. Over 1,300 people entered the two competitions over the week. Congratulations to Tom and Sandra and Sarah and her son, Sam who won flew with the team.
