The Joint Inspection Group Awards Shell Highest Rank Ever for 2 Consecutive Years
JIFF (Jet Fuel Farm) was established in 1998, after an MOU between 5 major oil companies in Dubai. The agreement was to form a Joint Venture between- BP, Chevron, Emarat (EmoJEt), ENOC, and Shell. Henceforth every 2 years the management of the Fuel Farm is passed from one partner to the next.
Shell has been managing the JIFF premises for two consecutive years now. And in just two years, they have achieved the unthinkable..
JIGG is an industry body known as the Joint Inspection Group- Thus the fuel farm receives International Audit inspectors to complete an Audit each year. This assessment tests the following factors: Safety, quality, staff competency, ERP procedures, and operational procedures.
The reason this inspection is done meticulously each year, is to ensure that the partners follow international safety operational guidelines. In 2009, as a result of these Audits, Shell has been honored with the highest JIGG ranking ever to be given to any company in the UAE. Not once, but twice in a row for two consecutive years!
Furhan Khan, JIFF Shell Manager says: “locally this is the first time we have been recognized for this rank of excellence, and globally it was the 2nd time we got rated as excellent. This is considered as the highest possible rank to attain. This makes us and our partners very proud.”
This rank is significant to Dubai Airport also, as it positions its reputation globally as compliant and consistent. For Shell it means meeting our promise to deliver, and exceeding expectations. We as a JV want to prove that no one at the airport should ever worry about fuel. And this is no easy task, imagine a human heart and its vessels. The Fuel Farm is an example of the heart, the fuel pipelines are the vessels, constantly pumping blood into the body/ airport.
